Rutgers Health leadership selected Hailey Sulzbach and Angela Zhao as this year's Chancellor's Scholars due to their exceptional qualities, including compassion, humility, and vision to address health disparities.
The Chancellor's Scholars program, developed by Rutgers Health Chancellor Brian Strom, awards prestigious scholarships to two first-year medical school students annually since 2016.
"The scholarship is really intended to attract and keep superstars, and it's been working that way," said Strom.
The program selects one student from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and one from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, which are being integrated to form the future Rutgers School of Medicine, expected to be officially established in 2027.
