Disappointment with Local MP's Correspondence
Hunstanton writer John Maiden discusses his concerns with his local MP, James Wild, in his weekly column.
After regularly reading James Wild's newsletter since his election as MP for North West Norfolk, John Maiden found himself agreeing with the MP's stance against erecting more pylons to carry overhead cables, instead advocating for underground concealment.
Maiden's support for the underground solution is based on the following facts:
- In 1968, before construction began on the Redgate Estate, all services were placed in underground ductwork.
- This approach improved the visual impact of the street scene and facilitated easier replacement of the gas supply network earlier in the year.
