Barcelona's Tourism Crackdown
Barcelona, Spain's most touristy city, is taking steps to address overtourism. The city council has approved a plan to reduce the annual visitor number limit at Park Güell to 4 million, a decrease of 500,000 from the current 4.5 million visitors.
The reduction will be implemented gradually over the next two years. The initiative, presented by the left-wing ERC, received support from all parties except the centre-right PP.
