Early Voting for New York's Next Mayor Begins
Early voting for New York's next mayor has commenced, with outsider Democratic Party candidate Zohran Mamdani as the favorite to win.
Mamdani, a 34-year-old self-described socialist, has been gaining momentum in the campaign, particularly among young New Yorkers.
According to the latest citywide poll conducted by Victory Insights, Mamdani leads with 47 percent support, followed by Cuomo at 18 points behind, and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa at 16 percent.
Early voting will continue until November 2, with Election Day on November 4, and the winner will take office in the New Year.
Mamdani has been facing 'Islamophobic' attacks, but his campaign has been boosted by eager support from young voters.
