Geothermal Heat Goes Mainstream in Toronto
Renewable energy systems are gaining market share due to their diverse solutions, decreasing costs, and improved efficiency, safety, and cleanliness compared to traditional sources.
According to a recent development,
"We can get a 70 per cent carbon reduction without breaking a sweat. That’s really easy without taking on a lot of risk. Everything in the building is business as usual: The distribution system, the thermostats, the heat pumps, the entire mechanical. We’re just slapping on a bore field."
Geothermal energy is not limited to single buildings, as it has also been utilized in district energy systems to heat and cool multiple buildings, including the University of Toronto's St. George Campus and a subdivision in Markham.
