The Crestwood Board of Education hired a new elementary school principal, rekindling debate about administrative hires amid the state-budget impasse.
On the 17th, with two school board members absent and one recently resigned, the Crestwood school board hired Sean McLaughlin as principal of Fairview Elementary School.
McLaughlin will receive a salary of $106,131, prorated to his time served, with his start date pending his release from his current employer.
He replaces Kevin Seyer, whom the Crestwood school board promoted to the position of Assistant to the Superintendent (Director of Elementary Education & Curriculum K-12) effective September.
No comment from the board members.
