Sweet Mona's Featured in Pacific Northwest Advent Calendar
Sweet Mona's in Langley has earned a spot in the Pacific Northwest Advent Calendar, featuring sweets from 24 businesses across Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.
Owner Ramona Newbauer, known as the "Willy Wonka of Whidbey," was selected for her shortbread whale cookies. Newbauer, an Italian-American Langley resident, built her business through curiosity and persistence.
"I think I've cracked the code,"
Newbauer told The Record, after years of trial and experimentation. Sweet Mona's now offers luxury chocolates, gelato, and coffee, providing a taste of Europe in the Pacific Northwest.
