I started running consistently about 10 years ago, with the goal of completing the 2016 New York City Marathon. To achieve this, I signed up for the New York Road Runner’s 9+1 program, which requires running nine races and volunteering at one.
Due to my intense running schedule, I developed IT band syndrome, which forced me to stop running. I underwent physical therapy (PT) to recover and was prescribed a set of at-home exercises to strengthen my hips.
These exercises included banded moves to target my hip muscles.
