Major League Baseball's potential expansion has sparked debate among sports analysts, with many predicting one team will be added in the east and one in the west.
Salt Lake City and Portland, Oregon are considered top contenders for the western team. According to John Canzano, a sports journalist and radio show host in Oregon,
“For me, it’s Salt Lake City and Portland. I think they’re underserved markets.”
Canzano believes Portland would be a great fit for an MLB team, but acknowledges that Salt Lake City may have an edge.
“If this is a marathon, and it feels like one to me, Salt Lake City is ahead,”he said.
Salt Lake City's advantage lies in its established ownership group, The Larry H. Miller Group.
