The Shelby County commissioners are set to vote on overriding Mayor Lee Harris' veto of a resolution that would move all Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) board seats to the 2026 ballot.
According to the county charter, it will take eight votes to override the veto, which was issued after the commission's September vote to shorten the four-year terms of office of five school board members elected last year.
Mayor Lee Harris had vetoed the resolution, but the commission is moving forward with a vote to potentially override it.
