Singapore's Key Exports Rebound
Singapore's key exports staged a surprise rebound in September, driven by a surge in electronics shipments, according to Enterprise Singapore.
- Non-oil domestic exports (Nodx) grew 6.9% year on year.
- Electronics exports surged 30.4% year on year, driven by personal computers, disk media products, and integrated circuits.
Analysts said the outlook is clouded by renewed US-China trade tensions.
DBS Bank senior economist Chua Han Teng noted that the rise in electronics exports was partly due to a lower base of comparison from a year ago.
