Truck Driver Runs Over Dozens of Birds in Florida
Florida wildlife officials are investigating an incident where nearly 50 birds were crushed to death by a truck driver in Brevard County.
According to rescuers, only one bird survived the ordeal. The birds, including seagulls and other shore birds, were killed when someone in a truck intentionally ran over them as they were gathered on the ground.
You don’t have to love wildlife. You don’t have to love animals not to be a cruel person.
Heather Pepe, with Wild Florida Rescue, expressed shock and disgust at the incident, saying "How that person hit them, though, and even in the road, I don’t know. They would have stepped on the gas and purposely did it."
The incident occurred last Friday, and officials are still investigating the matter.
