State water officials in Wyoming have begun gathering public feedback on a proposed water conservation program, as the state prepares for the potential fallout of Colorado River negotiations.
A draft of the state's Green River pilot water conservation program was presented during a meeting, with a deadline of November 11 to finalize the Colorado River negotiations looming.
Brandon Gebhart, the state engineer responsible for managing and regulating water within Wyoming, provided an update on the talks during a Colorado River Advisory Committee meeting, stating that
discussions between the basin states "are continuing."
