Jabari Smith's Jersey Retired at Sandy Creek High
Jabari Smith Jr. had his jersey retired in a ceremony at Sandy Creek High, with his NBA teammates in attendance.
Smith, entering his fourth season in the NBA, was drafted #3 overall in the 2022 draft by the Houston Rockets. During his time at Sandy Creek, he accumulated numerous accolades, including:
- McDonald's All American
- Gatorade Georgia Player Of the Year
- Atlanta Journal Constitution's Georgia Mr.
He graduated as the school's all-time leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker, before playing one season at Auburn University.
The ceremony was attended by his Rockets teammates and coaches, who were in town to play the Atlanta Hawks in a preseason game, as well as former teammates, coaches, teachers, and administrators.
Smith was cheered on by scores of former teammates, coaches, teachers, and administrators from along his journey.
