Hunters wearing blaze orange gathered on public lands surrounding Ortonville in western Minnesota for the 13th annual pheasant-hunting opener event, hosted by the DNR, Explore Minnesota, and the Governor's Office.
The event holds special meaning for Gov. Walz, who shared his outdoor experience with Outdoor News:
We were pheasant hunters, not deer hunters, pheasant and grouse.
The annual festivity took place last Saturday.
