This weekend, October 17-19, Cat Wrangler Productions will stage the Pulitzer Prize-winning show "Harvey" by Mary Chase at the Belfield Theater.
Directed by Jackie Hope, the cast is a mix of experienced stage actors and new faces, making the realization of a long-time dream possible.
The show, set in the 1940s, revolves around Elwood P. Dowd, who introduces everyone he meets to his best friend, a 6'1" invisible rabbit named Harvey.
This habit is both embarrassing and concerning for Elwood's sister, Veta Louise Simmons, played by Margaret Barnhart, who attempts to check her brother into a sanitarium, leading to confusion and a comedy of errors.
He makes everyone better
"Harvey" originally premiered on Broadway in 1944, earning Mary Chase the 1945 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
