Christchurch motorsport star Chris White, the Rookie winner in the 2024-2025 Bridgestone GR86 Championship, made his Bathurst debut at the Bathurst 1000 support event.
Chris won his drive in the third round of the 2025 Toyota Australia GR Cup due to his rookie successes in NZ. He aimed to make steady progress over the weekend's practice sessions, qualifying, and three races.
A huge crash in the first race ended his chance of progressing from 26th spot on the grid. However, he made big strides in the remaining two races, moving to 22nd in the second race and 14th in the final race.
“We had set out to find the pace to be in or just outside the top ten within the three races so in the end getting to 14th with only two races was pretty satisfying,”
he added. Chris enjoyed every minute of the experience at Bathurst.
