Severn Trent Water has expressed gratitude to its customers in Staffordshire for participating in a water-saving initiative. The company distributed 8,000 free water-saving devices to help reduce water consumption during the dry summer.
The potential combined water-saving could reach 100,000 litres per day, equivalent to more than 1,200 full bathtubs. Additionally, many customers signed up for smart water meters to save money.
Severn Trent is now encouraging the public to continue to be ‘water-wise’ all year round, as it deals with the twin challenges of climate change and population growth.
The company is investing £420 million in laying over 800 miles of new pipes across the region, including in Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
