A Pregnant Amazon Employee's Struggle
A 20-year-old Amazon employee, Genesis, faced difficulties at work after becoming pregnant in 2024.
Genesis worked as a "stower" at an Amazon warehouse in Southern California, where she had to place heavy items into moving pods.
"You're just a number to them."
After providing a doctor's note, Genesis requested accommodations for her pregnancy, including regular breaks, limited bending and twisting, and lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time.
However, Genesis claims her manager wrote her up for sitting down and taking breaks, despite her medical condition that made her prone to fainting.
