Unpacking the Twist in 'Gen V' Episode 7
'Gen V' co-creator and executive producer Eric Kripke discusses the major twist in Episode 7, revealing Dr. Thomas Godolkin's true identity as Cipher.
The episode's plot thickens as it's disclosed that Dr. Godolkin has been disguising himself as Godolkin University dean Cipher, played by Hamish Linklater, throughout the season.
Dr. Godolkin's plan was to train Marie to become strong enough to obtain the power of healing and/or resurrection.
- Marie, played by Jaz Sinclair, is tricked into bringing Dr. Godolkin back to his original form.
- Dr. Godolkin then removes himself from his host, Cipher, whose real name is revealed to be Doug Brightbill.
The episode ends with Cate and Jordan carrying a passed-out Marie, who is completely drained from restoring Dr. Godolkin.
