Monks Named New Bennington Town Manager
Dan Monks was named the new town manager of Bennington by the Select Board on Monday.
Monks has been the assistant town manager for a decade under the late Stuart Hurd, who died in August. He stepped into the manager's role on an acting basis in July when Hurd went on an extended medical leave.

Monks expressed his gratitude to the board, town staff members, and the people of Bennington for the opportunity to serve. He also thanked his former boss, mentor, and friend, Stuart Hurd.
