Albany Woman Charged with Manslaughter in Fatal Crash
A 25-year-old Albany woman, Imahjai Sutherland, has been charged with manslaughter for an alleged drunken crash on 787 that killed her two passengers.
- Two passengers, 27-year-old Jamilla N. Tirado and 25-year-old Cepelynn T. Sutherland, were killed in the crash.
- Sutherland was taken to the State Police Latham station after being released from the hospital.
- She was also charged with two counts of second-degree assault, aggravated vehicular homicide, DWI, and other vehicle and traffic violations.
Police said the driver showed signs of intoxication and a blood sample was taken at Albany Medical Center.
Sutherland's vehicle was found over an embankment off the northbound lanes in the area of Exit 5 just before 7 a.m.
