CREEED Recognizes Top Middle Schools in El Paso
CREEED, a nonprofit organization focused on increasing college readiness among Borderland students, has recognized the top five middle schools in El Paso for their high scores in Algebra 1.
The top five middle schools, all from the Socorro Independent School District, were celebrated for their work in teaching algebra to students. CREEED awarded Socorro ISD over $53,000 and provided gift cards to educators from the middle schools.
Socorro ISD has taken all top five spots for the 3rd year in a row.
According to Socorro ISD officials, 90% of eighth graders in the district take the Algebra 1 test. CREEED held its 3rd annual Algebra and Middle School event to recognize the achievements of these middle schools.
