The Kentucky Wildcats faced off against the Valparaiso Beacons in a college basketball nonconference matchup. Here is the score and key highlights from the game.
LEXINGTON — After preseason exhibitions against Purdue and Georgetown and a victory over Nicholls, Kentucky basketball has been aggressive with its three-point shooting. Coach Mark Pope aims for his team to attempt at least 30 three-pointers per game.
"We were a little bit of a bubbling mess, which should happen sometimes. It was everything," said Coach Pope of the first-half performance.
He added,
"We actually had some good possessions where we just didn't finish them. It was a lot of different things, but mostly, it was just us kind of establishing a feel for the game and really dialing in on being incredibly aggressive and (making) plays for our teammates."
Kentucky, now 1-0, prepares to host Valparaiso, also 1-0, at Rupp Arena tonight, hoping that their shooting accuracy improves.
