The Belleville Senators made history on Saturday night, becoming the first AHL team this season to score and win in Syracuse. Their impressive 7–4 victory over the Crunch showcased a relentless offensive effort and strong special teams play.
Syracuse struck first when Cooper Flinton buried a rebound past Leevi Merilainen just over five minutes into the match. Belleville answered quickly on the power play about three minutes later.
Arthur Kaliyev fired home his second goal of the season with a one-timer from the right circle, assisted by Stephen Halliday.
Four minutes later, Wyatt Bongiovanni netted his fourth of the season to give Belleville a 2–1 lead after the opening period.
The second period opened with a flurry of goals, all four coming in the first six minutes. Jakob Pelletier tied the game for Syracuse with a rebound goal just a minute into the frame.
Belleville wasted no time regaining control.
Wyatt Bongiovanni scored his second of the night on a wrist shot from the high slot, restoring the lead.
Later, Xavier Bourgault added his fourth goal of the season at 4:52, finishing a power-play chance in front to rebuild the Senators’ two-goal cushion.
The Senators’ offensive surge, led by Bongiovanni, Kaliyev, and Bourgault, powered them to a dominant road win and a season-high seven-goal performance.
