It was a heartfelt Houston homecoming for J.J. Watt. Before calling Sunday’s game between his former Texans and the Jaguars, the 36-year-old CBS Sports announcer shared a memorable moment on the NRG Stadium field with his 3-year-old son, Koa. Watt played for Houston for ten seasons, creating countless memories there.
“It was the best. This was such a cool morning for me to have my wife, Kealia, and my son, Koa, out on the field. Obviously, so many memories in this building, so many great throwbacks, and to see him [Koa] run into that end zone, the same one I’ve run into before, just unbelievable feeling this morning.”
After the 2020 season, Watt requested his release from the Texans and signed a two-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals. During the 2021 season, he suffered a shoulder injury and underwent surgery. The following year, he revealed a significant health issue when he experienced atrial fibrillation and required his heart to be shocked back into rhythm.
