Police have confirmed that a woman and a child drowned after falling into Dandenong Creek this afternoon, 10 November.
According to a witness, two people were swept away around 3:45 pm near Allan Street after falling into the waterway. It is believed the woman tried to help the child and also encountered trouble.
During the search, authorities found the unconscious pair, pulled them from the water, and attempted CPR. Unfortunately, both were declared dead at the scene.
The identities of the woman and child are currently unknown. Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
