An upcoming exhibition in London will celebrate the fashion legacy of Queen Elizabeth II, featuring pieces by renowned British designers Erdem Moralioglu, Richard Quinn, and Christopher Kane.
The event, titled Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style, commemorates the 100th anniversary of the queen’s birth on April 21, 1926. It promises to be the most extensive showcase of her fashion to date.
Each designer's work will be accompanied by a corresponding item from Queen Elizabeth's fashion archive, creating a dialogue between contemporary and historical styles.
Moralioglu described the queen’s wardrobe as “a snapshot of a very long life, a life of duty, and in so many ways it’s a time capsule."
Additionally, the official centenary publication will include their reflections on the queen’s style, along with a tribute by Anna Wintour and an essay by Amy de la Haye, a professor of dress history and curatorship at the London College of Fashion.
This exhibition highlights the enduring influence of Queen Elizabeth II’s fashion choices and celebrates her impact on British culture through style.
