Paul Rodgers, the 75-year-old lead singer of Bad Company, announced he will not attend the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on November 8. The musician shared the decision in an Instagram post this week, explaining that he needs to focus on his health.
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health.”
Rodgers added that he still feels fine singing but struggles with the stress of events like this, thanking fans for their understanding.
“I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Thanks for understanding.”
The singer noted that his longtime bandmate Simon Kirke, along with other talented musicians, will perform in his place at the event and “are guaranteed to rock.” Rodgers and Kirke had earlier announced plans to reunite as the last surviving members of the original group.
Rodgers did not specify details about his current health but previously revealed on CBS Mornings in 2023 that he had suffered 13 strokes over several years. Eleven were minor, while two were serious enough to temporarily leave him unable to speak.
“I couldn’t do anything to be honest. That was the very strange thing.”
At 75, Paul Rodgers prioritizes recovery after multiple strokes, missing the Rock Hall induction while ensuring Bad Company still performs.
