Hayley Williams released “Showbiz,” a surprise track from her third solo album Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, which was officially released on vinyl today. This song follows the earlier surprise drops “Good Ol Days” and “Parachute,” additions to the original 17-track collection released last summer through her label, Post Atlantic, and distributed by Secretly Distribution.
Williams co-wrote “Showbiz” with Daniel James, the producer and collaborator who contributed to the entire album. The track captures a hazy, romantic moment in a club setting, with Williams singing:
“I wanna do it again / I wanna dance in the strobe lights / I wanna choke on the smoke / And feel your eyes on me.”
She questions whether the experience held the same meaning for her partner as it did for her.
The “Showbiz” visualizer showcases the Nashville skyline alongside Williams' distinctive scribble-style artwork featured throughout the LP.
Record stores worldwide marked the album’s physical release with an event called “Ego Nite,” which included record playbacks, merchandise, and vinyl copies of the album.
