‘Rosemead’ Trailer: Lucy Liu Delivers a Career-Defining Performance in Eric Lin’s Family Drama
Lucy Liu takes on one of the strongest roles of her career in “Rosemead,” the directorial debut from cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Eric Lin. The film portrays a mother’s desperate struggle to protect her son, blending raw emotion with piercing realism.
“Rosemead” is based on a true story and follows an ailing woman who resorts to increasingly drastic measures to help her troubled teenage son, played by Lawrence Shou. As tensions grow within their Chinese American community and his behavior worsens, the boundaries between love and survival become hauntingly uncertain.
“Rosemead” was an official selection at the Tribeca Film Festival and earned awards at both the Bentonville and Locarno Film Festivals.
The feature will premiere in New York on December 5 and in Los Angeles on December 12, 2025, through a limited theatrical release.
