Cristiano Ronaldo has once more targeted France’s Ligue 1 during an interview, continuing his recurring critique of the league. The Portuguese star recently spoke with Piers Morgan and did not hold back his opinions.
Ronaldo expressed that the French league revolves predominantly around Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He stated:
“The Saudi Pro League is much better than the Portuguese league and Ligue 1, where there’s only PSG. For me, it’s easier to score in La Liga than in the Saudi Pro League.”
He added that the statistics prove his point and criticized those unfamiliar with the challenges of playing in the Saudi Pro League, especially under extreme heat. According to him, the league boasts many high-caliber players.
“They can say whatever they want, but the numbers don’t lie. They’ve never played in the Saudi Pro League. They don’t know what it’s like to run under 40°C heat. Just look at the number of top-level players we have in the league. If I were playing right now for a big Premier League team, I’d still be scoring just as many goals.”
Cristiano Ronaldo continues to assert that Ligue 1 lacks competitiveness outside PSG, praising the Saudi Pro League and emphasizing his consistent scoring ability.
