Alex Vesia, pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his wife Kayla are grieving the heartbreaking loss of their first child. On Friday, November 7, the couple shared a joint statement revealing that their daughter, Sterling Sol Vesia, was stillborn.
"There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her," the couple said.
Accompanying their message on Instagram was a touching photo of their hands resting gently on their daughter's. They wrote,

Sterling Sol Vesia passed away on Sunday, October 29. The Vesias extended their gratitude to the Dodgers organization for their support after the team’s World Series victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in November.
