Dodgers Reliever Alex Vesia and Wife Mourn Loss of Baby Daughter
Dodgers relief pitcher Alex Vesia has shared the heartbreaking reason for his absence from the World Series. In a joint Instagram post with his wife, Kayla, the couple announced they are grieving the loss of their baby daughter, Sterling Sol Vesia.
“Our little angel we love you forever & you’re with us always,” the post read. “Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday October 26th. There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her.”
Vesia, 29, was away from the Dodgers during the World Series due to what the team described as a “deeply personal family matter.” The couple had revealed earlier in April that they were expecting a child.
They expressed gratitude toward the Dodgers organization and fans for their support throughout this difficult time.
