PM Narendra Modi Praises Indian Women's Cricket Team
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the Champion Indian Women's Cricket Team and praised the significant role played by cricketer Renuka Singh Thakur's mother in her success.
"I will salute your mother for contributing so much to your life even in difficult situations. As a single parent, she made many efforts to ensure your success. A mother doing so much for her daughter is a very big thing," said PM Modi addressing Renuka.
Renuka Singh Thakur participated in six matches during the recent Women's World Cup, taking three wickets and contributing importantly to India's championship win.
On November 5, PM Modi hosted the victorious Women's World Cup team at his residence on Lok Kalyan Marg, congratulating them on their triumph and their impressive recovery after initial setbacks and online criticism.
"You all have done a very big job. In India, cricket is not just a game; it has become the life of the people," PM Modi remarked during his interaction with the players.
The Prime Minister's interaction highlighted both the team's resilience and the personal sacrifices behind their achievements.
