They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.
This Remembrance Sunday (9 November), services and parades across Angus will honor all those who gave their lives defending our freedoms. Wreaths will be laid in tribute.
If you have not already planned to attend and are able, I encourage you to take a moment to join your community at one of these important events and pay respect to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
If you cannot attend, please take time privately or with loved ones to quietly reflect and remember the fallen.
Tuesday, 11 November, marks Armistice Day. At 11am, whether at home or work, please pause and observe two minutes of silence to honor the bravery and selflessness of our Armed Services.
“We must and will remember them.”
We also extend thanks to the service men and women who continue to serve our country near and far. As they protect us, we stand ready to support them.
Recent years have brought uncertain times, with the harsh realities of war conveyed through diverse media channels.
Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day unite communities in honoring those who sacrificed their lives, while reminding us to support current service members amidst ongoing global uncertainties.
