Remembrance Day Parades 2025: Bus Service Changes on Sunday 9 November
On Remembrance Sunday, 9 November 2025, some bus routes will experience temporary changes across the county due to local parades. NCT has been informed of key parades, though other brief service interruptions may also occur.
Silence Observance by Bus Drivers
At 11:00 am on Sunday 9 and Tuesday 11 November, bus drivers will observe two minutes of silence. When safe, they will park their buses, turn off engines, and invite passengers to join in this national moment of remembrance.
Free Travel for Serving Personnel and Veterans
NCT offers free travel from 8 to 11 November 2025 for all serving personnel, cadets, and veterans. To qualify, passengers must show valid ID or travel in uniform.
Road Closures and Route Diversions on Sunday 9 November
- Nottingham Road, Church Drive, and Sir John Robinson Way will be closed from 09:00 to 12:00.
- Lilac 25 and Lime 58 buses will be diverted, skipping stops at Charles Street, Sainsbury’s, Portland Street, Daybrook Square, Thackeray’s Lane, and Calstock Road. However, buses will serve all stops along the alternative routes.
Calverton Parade Impact
A parade in Calverton on Sunday 9 November will affect the Sky Blue 61 route from 09:00 to 12:00.
- The following stops will not be served: St Wilfrid’s Square, St Wilfrid’s Church, and Oakland Grove.
East Leake Road Closure
Main Street in East Leake will be closed on Sunday 9 November from 10:30 to 11:45. South Notts 1 buses will be rerouted via Main Street, Castle Hill, and Loughborough Road.
"At 11am (on Sunday 9th and Tuesday 11th), bus drivers will observe the 2 minutes silence and will, where safe to do so, park their buses and turn off their engines and the company invites you to join them in national remembrance."
These changes ensure respect for Remembrance Day events while maintaining essential transport services with adjusted schedules and routes.
