Rapper Young Bleed, born Glenn Clifton Jr., passed away at the age of 51 on Saturday after complications from a brain aneurysm. The artist was hospitalized only days before and placed in intensive care on a ventilator, according to TMZ.
Tameka Long, the mother of their 10-year-old son, explained that the aneurysm was triggered by internal bleeding. Despite having high blood pressure and taking medication for it, Young Bleed had no major health concerns in the period leading up to his death.
"As of November 1st, my dad gained his wings. This is a tough topic for me — not sure how it's gonna go. But I am here to clear up a lot of false narratives."
These were the words of his son, Ty'Gee Ramon, who confirmed his father’s death in an emotional video on Instagram. In the clip, he reflected on his father's influence on music and mourned his passing.
Young Bleed was best known for his hit track "How Ya Do That," featured on the 1997 soundtrack for the film I'm Bout It. His music and distinctive Southern hip-hop style left a lasting mark on the genre.
