A Ukrainian cultural delegation recently visited Ukrainian-Hungarian schools in Budapest, sharing music and hope with students amid the ongoing war in Ukraine. The event was organized at the invitation of the Ukrainian ambassador to Hungary and involved Professor Fedor Shandor.
The volunteer-soldiers, who have been defending Ukraine since the start of the full-scale conflict, held a heartfelt meeting with the pupils. The purpose was to showcase the richness of Ukrainian culture through music, storytelling, and song.
Before this visit, the Cultural Landing had performed in the Netherlands as part of a tour promoting Ukrainian heritage.
“Children and teachers enjoyed the wonderful sound of the bandura performed by the Merited Artist of Ukraine Taras Stolyar, who deftly blended Ukrainian authentic performance with the contemporary. The voice of the Merited Artist of Ukraine Yuriy Ivaskevich moved everyone to tears, and Mykola Serga especially touched the young Ukrainian audience with the song ‘Home’.”
Mykola Serga addressed the children with a hopeful message: “We have come to you today, and we believe that very soon you will come to us… home.”
