A new country will officially join the normalization agreements with Israel, collectively known as the Abraham Accords, announced Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump's special envoy, on Thursday.
Witkoff did not reveal the country but confirmed the announcement would be made Thursday evening at an event in Washington, where he was flying back to attend.
"I'm flying back to Washington tonight because we're going to announce tonight, another country coming into the Abraham Accords."
The Abraham Accords are peace deals signed between Israel and Muslim-majority countries during Trump's first term. So far, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, and the United Arab Emirates have joined these agreements.
Axios news reported that Kazakhstan, which has maintained diplomatic ties with Israel since 1992, is likely to be the new country joining the Abraham Accords.
The Abraham Accords are set to expand as a new country, possibly Kazakhstan, is announced to join the historic Israel normalization agreements this Thursday.
