Lindy Waters Inspires Native Students Toward Higher Education
Lindy Waters, an NBA player from Oklahoma, is leveraging his platform to encourage Native students to aim for higher education. While preparing for the upcoming season with the San Antonio Spurs, Waters is also organizing a special event to motivate Native youth.
Waters’ Preparations and Recent Health Update
Waters shared about his busy schedule, including training camp and a recent eye appointment. He said,
"I've been busy. Getting ready for the season with the San Antonio Spurs. I had a great camp, had an eye appointment and unfortunately they found a couple of small tears but we got that repaired. Hopefully, can make my return in the next week."
Event to Support Native Students
Through his foundation, Waters is hosting an event aimed at giving Native students firsthand exposure to college life. The goal is to inspire them to pursue higher education and make the most of academic opportunities.
"We're trying to be able to use my platform to expose them to higher education... I would want someone with the same stature, or platform to provide that for me if I was younger," Waters said.
