Toronto Reaches Major Milestone with 500th Public EV Charger Energized

Toronto has achieved a key milestone by launching its 500th public electric vehicle (EV) charging station, further improving access to clean transportation for residents and visitors. The collaboration between the Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) and Toronto Hydro underscores the city’s growing leadership in sustainable mobility.

Expansion of the EV Network

The 500th charger, located at Green P Carpark 504 on Willingdon Blvd., becomes part of Canada’s largest municipally owned EV charging network. This development makes it more convenient for drivers across Toronto to transition to electric vehicles.

Partnership Driving Electrification

TPA oversees the operation and management of the city’s growing EV infrastructure, while Toronto Hydro powers ongoing projects that support Toronto’s electrification goals. Together, they continue to expand charging access throughout the city.

Commitment to Sustainable Mobility

Since introducing its first EV charger in 2020, Toronto Hydro has accelerated clean mobility growth. In 2025, the utility plans to connect more than 4,000 EV chargers in homes and buildings, ensuring that reliable power supports Toronto’s electric future.

“Our mission is clear: to create a seamless mobility experience that delivers on Choice, Ease, and Speed for our customers. Purposeful expansion of our EV network is a catalyst for EV adoption across Toronto by creating accessible, reliable, and trusted charging solutions for city residents.”
