The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) and Toronto Hydro have achieved a significant milestone in the city’s transition to electric mobility by activating the 500th public electric vehicle (EV) charging station. This marks a major step in Canada’s largest municipally owned charging network.
Located at Green P Carpark 504 on Willingdon Blvd., the new charger enhances public access to sustainable transportation across Toronto. Since 2020, Toronto Hydro and TPA have collaborated to grow the city’s EV charging infrastructure. Toronto Hydro initially launched the network before transferring ownership to TPA in 2023.
“Reaching 500 energized EV charging stations is a testament to what strong partnerships can achieve,” said Jana Mosley, President & CEO of Toronto Hydro.
“Our mission is clear: to create a seamless mobility experience that delivers on Choice, Ease, and Speed for our customers,” stated TPA President Scott Collier.
This joint initiative highlights Toronto’s broader efforts to promote cleaner energy and sustainable transport solutions, positioning the city as a leader in municipal EV infrastructure development.
