On Tuesday, November 11, multiple ceremonies will be held across Surrey in observance of Remembrance Day, recognizing the bravery and service of Canada’s veterans.
“Remembrance Day is an opportunity for us to come together and reflect on the steadfast dedication of Canada’s veterans and those who continue to serve,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “Their legacy lives on in the freedoms we enjoy and the communities we build. I encourage everyone to take a moment during Veterans Week and on Remembrance Day to reflect and express appreciation for the commitment and courage of our veterans and service members.”
Residents are encouraged to arrive early to secure parking or choose alternative transportation options such as cycling or transit. A new online interactive map is available to help visitors locate veterans or loved ones interred at City-operated cemeteries.
More details about Remembrance Day events are available on the City of Surrey’s website.
